Our Savings Matching Program is a trust-based savings program that eliminates common restrictions many survivors face. Participants will self-report their savings each month through a short survey and FreeFrom will match up to $55 a month for 12 months.
You do not need a bank account, a social security number, or “proof” of savings. You tell us how much you saved, and we send you your match.
When does enrollment begin?
Starting today, you can join the waitlist to begin your enrollment into the program! You can find the waitlist below. This enrollment period will remain open until August 18 or until we reach the number of open spots available.
When will the program begin?
The program will officially begin on September 1st.
Who is eligible to participate?
You must be able to answer yes to all of the four questions below in order to be eligible
- Are you a survivor of gender-based violence?
- Are you at least 18 years old?
- Are you located within the U.S.?
- Is this your first time participating in FreeFrom’s Savings Matching Program?
Is now the right time for you to participate?
- Are you able to save an average of $55 each month for at least six months at this current time? (You are not required to save $55 each month but this amount can help you to make the most out of participating in this program)
- Do you have access to an internet connection via your smartphone/tablet/computer to fill out a monthly survey that will document how much you saved each month?
- Do you have a safe way to store your savings? (e.g. perhaps you are moving around and you may not have a secure place to keep your money and track your savings)
- Are you able to safely receive your monthly matches via PayPal, Venmo, direct deposit to a bank account, or check in the mail?
If you answered no to any of these questions, it may be best to wait until you are able to answer yes with certainty to all four questions.
We want this program to be as beneficial as possible for you and it is perfectly fine if right now is not the best time. We offer different enrollment periods and we will be here when you are ready and able to participate.
